Happy Tax Day!

I have never paid for a child to go to school, but tax day must be akin to paying tuition for a child to go to school who can't make a passing grade to save his life, rarely attends class, and has no concept of the sacrifices you've made for him.

I encourage you all to visit fairtax.org to read about a real life viable option that will eliminate the IRS, let you pay taxes on your terms, tax drug dealers and black market money makers, and eliminate estate and capital gains taxes...got your attention?

The basics (below) are an excerpt from the site. Please visit the site, sign up, and spread the word. We must demand that anyone we elect in November will do this. Many times when thinking about what politicians are actually capable of doing, I often have my doubts. However this is a real idea that will work.

What is the FairTax plan?

The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment.

The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 296) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.

The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.

The FairTax:

  • Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
  • Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
  • Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
  • Allows American products to compete fairly
  • Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
  • Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
  • Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
  • Abolishes the IRS

We offer a library of information throughout this Web site about the features and benefits of the FairTax plan. Please explore!

The FairTax Five

The gloves are off as critics try to pick apart the FairTax. Trouble is, it's just a replay of the same five FairTax myths:

  1. I was just listening to Neal Boortz talking about it today. Don't think he's the greatest, but he's definitely got it right on the fair tax. Hope y'all are doing well.

  2. Today there was a huge street festival in my parents' town of Franklin TN. Booths and stands lined the streets as the traveling artisans pushed their quaint crafts. I suspect that they claim about 15% of their revenue, write off all of their fuel and lodging expenses and show a net loss to the IRS every year. Basically, they scam around the beautiful parts of America selling beads. We (those of us that pay income tax) must be chumps.
